-------------------------------------
Various Software to investigate in no particular order:
- Python (high level language) installed on dra.in
- Mapstraction.com (abstraction library) Alan will be working with this on October 15th
- PostGIS (online spatially-friendly database)
- GDAL/OGR (command line conversion tools) installed on dra.in
- OpenLayers (open source slippy map) installed on dra.in (current as of 10Oct09)
- geodjango (spatial web framework)
- Lindo Lingo API (optimization solver) - We may or may not want to use this. Proprietary, etc. It has been suggested we use a DTA model by the transportation folks (Possibly Transims). Problems I can think that involves this is that we would need to develop something that would need to be near instantaneous. A shortest path algorithm based upon given road conditions may be better.
- Another option would be: http://www.coin-or.org/ - This was just presented on at the INFORMS 2009 San Diego meeting and looks promising, though I haven't played with it.
- Geoserver (data server) installed on dra.in (needs to be updated)
- GeoExt (user interface library) installed on dra.in (current as of 10Oct09)
- Amazon EC2
